Free event will connect professionals, community organisations and local services to share ideas and build partnerships

Health inequalities affecting communities across Kirklees will be at the heart of a major local conference bringing together professionals, community organisations, local services and practitioners to explore how collaboration can help improve access to health and wellbeing services.

The KLTV Health Conference 2026: Working Together for a More Connected Kirklees will take place on Friday 11 September 2026, providing an opportunity for people working across the health, community and public sectors to share experiences, explore challenges and identify opportunities for positive change.

Four key health themes

The conference will focus on four key areas that are central to tackling health inequalities across Kirklees:

• Creative Health
• Public Health
• Health Inequalities
• Substance Use and Misuse

The programme will feature expert talks, interactive workshops and networking opportunities, allowing attendees to discover local services, develop new partnerships and share examples of good practice.

Organisers say the event is designed to encourage greater collaboration between organisations and practitioners, helping to create a more connected approach to health and wellbeing across the borough.

Building stronger local connections

With health inequalities continuing to affect communities in different ways, the conference will provide a space for those working on the ground to discuss the challenges they face and consider how services can work more effectively together.

The event will also give attendees the opportunity to meet other professionals and organisations, potentially opening the door to new partnerships and collaborative projects.

Free conference at the University of Huddersfield

The conference will be held at the Health Business Innovation Centre, Emily Siddon Building, University of Huddersfield, from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm.

Attendance is free, with lunch and refreshments provided, although spaces are limited.
