Huddersfield, UK – On Monday, February 19th, 2024, Kirklees Local TV (KLTV) delivered a successful podcast training workshop as part of the ongoing PACE Project initiative.

KLTV’s podcast workshop provided enthusiastic participants with hands-on guidance in developing and producing engaging podcasts.

Attendees learned essential skills such as establishing a unique idea through proper preparation and planning, and specific techniques on how to engage their audience.

Learners also had the opportunity to get hands-on with some of the latest equipment for podcasting, including high-quality microphones and recording equipment.

By the end of the workshop, those involved had the chance to produce and record their own mini podcasts. The attendees shared all manner of interests from art to local politics and even a discussion on drag queens!

Organised by Proper Job Theatre Co and funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the Participation in the Arts and Creative Economy (PACE) Project empowers the Huddersfield community by offering a diverse range of creative courses and workshops in fields like journalism, media, music, events, writing, and wellness.

‘Thrilled’

“We were thrilled by the positive response to our podcast workshop,” said Christopher Morgan, Chief Editor at KLTV and one of the facilitators of the workshop.

“It’s inspiring to see the community’s eagerness to explore this dynamic medium and share their voices.”

The workshop ultimately reflects the PACE Project’s commitment to fostering creativity and providing skills that can open up new opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Participants left the workshop feeling empowered and excited to launch their podcasting journeys.

‘Informative’

One attendee said: “The workshop was extremely informative, and the facilitators were very engaging.

“I found the course interesting and was able to concentrate the whole way through”.

Others found that the workshop was able to dispel a few misconceptions about podcasting.

Another attendee added: “It was a fun, explorative, well-explained workshop that debunked a few myths around podcasting”.

Finally, learners appreciated the mix of activities including the practical application of recording.

In their evaluation, one attendee said: “I loved the practical side of things – actually getting to use the equipment and learn how to edit my own audio.

“It’s made me so excited to start recording!”
