Kirklees Local TV (KLTV) is delighted to announce that it has been named the Kirklees Area Member of the Year at the MY Chamber Business Awards and Celebration Evening 2025.

Formerly known as the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, MY Chamber unveiled the shortlist for its prestigious 2025 MY Awards earlier this year, celebrating the exceptional achievements of businesses and leaders across Yorkshire.

The awards honour businesses and individuals who have shown remarkable innovation, resilience, and commitment to people and place over the past year.

The evening featured a bevvy of live entertainment, hosted at the King’s Croft Hotel in Pontefract

A Night to Celebrate Yorkshire’s Brightest

This year’s ceremony brought together Yorkshire’s brightest businesses, inspiring leaders, and outstanding achievers for an unforgettable evening of recognition, networking, and celebration on Thursday 23 October 2025.

Guests were treated to a red-carpet entrance, a welcome drink, a three-course dinner, live entertainment, and the eagerly awaited prizegiving, all hosted at the King’s Croft Hotel in Pontefract.

Returning by popular demand, award-winning voice actor, presenter, and DJ, Paul Dela Ross, once again took to the stage as host, ensuring the evening was filled with energy, laughter, and celebration.

An independent panel of judges reviewed a record-breaking number of nominations across 12 categories, including Employer of the Year and Sustainable Business of the Year.

KLTV’s Double Honour

Representing KLTV, CEO Dr Milton Brown attended the event to present the Diversity and Inclusion Award, which was won by Flat Stan First Aid Ltd, a company recognised for its outstanding work in promoting accessibility and inclusion through first aid education.

In an unexpected and humbling moment, Kirklees Local TV was also announced as the Kirklees Area Member of the Year, an award recognising the organisation’s ongoing contribution to local storytelling, diversity, and community empowerment.

“It was a wonderful evening filled with warmth, celebration, and genuine community spirit,” said Dr Milton Brown, CEO of Kirklees Local TV.

“To present the Diversity and Inclusion Award — a category that reflects values we hold deeply at KLTV — was already a privilege.

“But to then be recognised ourselves as Kirklees Area Member of the Year was a humbling and unexpected honour.

“This award is a testament to the hard work, passion, and creativity of our team, and to the incredible community that inspires everything we do.”

Success for Kirklees

Kirklees saw even more success on the evening as Kirsty Watson and Kenzi Shamsuddin-Roberts from Qualia Academy also took home awards for Entrepreneur of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.

Their well-deserved awards highlight the breadth of business talent in Kirklees, and, as neighbours in the prestigious Media Centre in Huddersfield, which is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary next month, show what can be achieved through community and collaboration.
