Northern Quarter event leads dual celebration of local talent across Huddersfield and Dewsbury

Kirklees Most Wanted, the platform devoted to championing emerging musical talent from across the region, is gearing up to launch 2026 with two high-energy showcase events, headlined by a standout night in Huddersfield at The Northern Quarter.

The showcases, designed to celebrate the depth and diversity of Kirklees’ music scene, will take place in Huddersfield on Saturday 10 January 2026 and Dewsbury on Friday 20 February 2026.

“The Kirklees Most Wanted Showcase is more than just a concert—it’s a celebration of the thriving music scene in Kirklees,” says the founder of the Kirklees Most Wanted project.

“By holding events in both Huddersfield and Dewsbury, we are expanding our mission to amplify local voices and nurture the vibrant, inclusive music scene across the whole community.”

Huddersfield’s Northern Quarter Hosts Dynamic Line-Up

The Huddersfield showcase at The Northern Quarter promises a genre-spanning evening featuring four standout acts:

• Rillington Place – Alternative metal outfit known for their heavy sound, featured on the Kirklees Most Wanted playlist with “Lament.”
• Eskar & Micky Swags – Independent hip-hop artist Eskar (Nuke Fam Records) teams up once again with versatile lyricist Micky Swags, whose work includes the mental-health-focused track “116 123.”
• Leo Brazil – Huddersfield musician and producer blending acoustic, folk, pop, and psychedelia influences with his band, Leo Brazil & his Twitch.
• Sophie & Songs – Indie folk singer-songwriter delivering “hauntingly beautiful folk tracks” with raw, vulnerable lyrics.

High-energy DJ Fiesta La Ginger will keep the atmosphere alive before, between, and after the live sets.

Dewsbury Welcomes a Second Night of Rising Stars

The Dewsbury showcase at The Terrace will feature another impressive roster of artists representing Indie-Folk, Pop, and high-octane Rock:

• Eve Joné – Rising indie/folk voice known for deeply personal music such as “Our Time,” described as a “three-minute-therapy session.”
• Simon Walker – Award-winning singer/songwriter blending Indie-Pop and Acoustic Rock, with credits including a collaboration trip with Justin Hawkins of The Darkness and a spot at Yungblud’s Bludfest.
• Penny – Dream-Pop/Electro-Pop artist mixing sweet vocals with candid, therapeutic songwriting.
• Don Gonzo – A high-energy band delivering an unpredictable fusion of Psychedelic Rock, Post-Punk, and Funk, famed for their anti-establishment anthem “Quit Your Job.”

Fiesta La Ginger will also soundtrack the Dewsbury event with electrifying DJ sets throughout the night.
