Kirklees Museums and Galleries have just been awarded the Kirklees Volunteering Quality Award.
Why did Museums and Galleries receive the award?
The certificate is awarded to organisations that involve volunteers in ways that have been agreed as good practice by Volunteering Kirklees and Kirklees Council. It demonstrates that an organisation values volunteers and can provide them with a high quality, positive experience.
What does our Volunteer Support Officer think?
Becky Bracey, Volunteer Support Officer commented:
“We are thrilled to receive this quality award. Volunteers play a very important role in supporting our staff to enhance the visitor experience at our sites and improve access to our museum collections.”
Kirklees Museums and Galleries have lots of volunteering opportunities
Kirklees Museums and Galleries have a range of Volunteer opportunities from Gardening and Conservation tasks at Oakwell Hall and Country Park, to behind the scenes roles with the Curators. A team of new Public Engagement Volunteers have recently been recruited who will be supporting a ‘Pop-up Museum’ out and about at community events.
