Final days to grab discounted tickets before prices rise

With less than a month to go until Huddersfield Literature Festival 2025 bursts into life, excitement is building – and so is the urgency to snap up discounted tickets.

The popular Early Bird offer, launched to help make the festival more accessible amid a tough economic climate, will end at midnight on Tuesday, 22 April.

Festival organisers have emphasised their commitment to keeping events affordable and inclusive, offering a wide range of discounted and even free events.

However, balancing accessibility with the sustainability of the festival means the Early Bird discounts must soon come to a close.

Unmissable Events for All Ages

To help festival-goers make the most of the remaining days, the website features a curated section highlighting all events with Early Bird prices still available.

This year’s programme is packed with something for everyone, from families with young children to fans of poetry, fiction, and gripping mystery novels. Here are just a few highlights:

Crime-Solving Fun for Kids

Children’s Crime Busting Workshop with Gabriella Gordon

Get ready for detective thrills! Designed for children aged 8–11, this hands-on workshop is led by children’s author Gabriella Gordon and inspired by her book Sweet Crime, Sweet Justice.

Young participants will team up to solve clues and crack a fictional case.

Yvonne Battle-Felton’s new novel immerses readers in Curdle Creek, a mysterious all-Black town in rural America, while Lisa Rooke’s The Village unveils dark secrets after the disappearance of a local festival queen.

Polly Atkin – The Company of Owls
