DASH Huddersfield, which supports asylum seekers and refugees in Kirklees, and Shared Goods, a charity clothing project based in Huddersfield, recently hosted a special event as part of Refugee Week 2023.
The charities invited groups from all across Kirklees to take part in and enjoy the food, music, dance and culture of the many diverse communities in the region.
Additionally, there was even a specialist Stilt Walker, welcoming people and taking pictures in the Piazza. Ghiath from Syriam is one of the Shared Goods volunteers.
There was live music from Yuliia and their band from Ukraine, Hussain from Kurdistan, and the Ribblebeck Ceilidh band from the Holme Valley.
Amazing food came from many people, including dishes from Yemen, Syria, Cameroon, Kurdistan, Pakistan, India, Lebanon, Morocco and England.
The event was a huge success, and DASH Huddersfield and Shared Goods would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it possible.
