Local charity hoot creative arts is expanding its offer of free activities for people affected by dementia.
The Breathing Space service has been offering free creative workshops to people affected by dementia for over 6 years in Kirklees.
The new session, an afternoon social at hoot creative arts’ base in Huddersfield, will support the well-being of people with dementia, their families, and carers.
It will also be an opportunity to meet new people, share a fun creative activity, and have a go at something new. No artistic experience is needed.
Breathing Space’s October Social takes place Monday 16th October from 12:30 pm until 3 pm at hoot creative arts, Bates Mill, Milford Street HD1 3DX. The session is free for Kirklees residents, with free food and drink provided.

Estelle Copper, Project Manager at hoot said: “We’re excited to be expanding our offer of activities for people living with dementia and their partners, carers or family members.”
“Spending quality time together as well as meeting others in a similar situation is a great way to reduce the loneliness that can come with a diagnosis of dementia and caring responsibilities. We hope by offering our space and a warm welcome at hoot that we can build a supportive community for attendees.”
