A man will appear before magistrates today charged with the murder of a woman in Dewsbury.

Wahib Albaradan (35) of Dearnley Street, Dewsbury, is set to appear before Leeds Magistrates Court today, facing charges of murdering 27-year-old Salam Alshara.

The incident occurred at their residence on Dearnley Street during the evening of Sunday, November 20.

The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are probing the circumstances surrounding Salam’s death.

Albaradan is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, November 22.

Detective Inspector Guy Shackleton, urged individuals who were acquainted with the couple to come forward and cooperate with the ongoing inquiry.

The detective stated, “We are continuing our investigations into Salam’s murder, and as part of those inquiries, we would like to speak to anyone who knew them.”

The couple, believed to have arrived in the UK around 2020, settled in the Dewsbury area in 2021 with their four children.

Investigators are actively working to locate extended family members and encourage anyone with information to reach out to the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team at 101, referencing police crime number 13230642219.

Detective Inspector Shackleton emphasised the importance of community assistance in shedding light on the circumstances leading to this incident.
