The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Huddersfield celebrated Eid ul-Fitr with a heartfelt gathering at John Smith Stadium on Monday, 31 March, bringing together over 700 attendees for a day of spiritual reflection, gratitude, and community unity.

A Celebration of Faith and Compassion

Fatihul Haq, the External Affairs Secretary, emphasised the spiritual significance of Eid ul-Fitr, stating: “Eid ul-Fitr is not only a celebration following the blessed month of Ramadan but also a reminder of the countless blessings Allah bestows upon us.

“It teaches us the virtues of self-discipline, charity, and compassion—guidance we embraced during Ramadan and will carry throughout the year.

“In the words of the Holy Qur’an, ‘Indeed, Allah is with those who patiently persevere’ (2:153). Let us celebrate by extending our hands to help our neighbours, sharing our joy, and fostering peace within our communities.”

Prayers for Peace and Global Stability

During the celebration, special prayers were offered for global peace and stability, as well as for those suffering from wars, conflicts, and natural disasters.

The congregation prayed for justice, dialogue, and mutual understanding to resolve issues and create a better world for present and future generations.

Acts of Kindness and Community Engagement

The spirit of Eid was further enriched by the distribution of sweets and chocolates to all attendees, while food parcels were donated to those in need.

Reflecting on the charitable deeds accomplished during Ramadan—such as feeding the homeless, supporting the less fortunate, and promoting kindness—the community pledged to continue these acts of goodwill throughout the year.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to forgiveness, humility, and inclusivity, regardless of ethnicity or faith.

A sentiment shared during the event captured the essence of the occasion: “True Eid is not measured by new clothes or lavish feasts, but by the love we share, the mercy we extend, and the unity we build in the light of Allah’s infinite blessings.”

Under the inspiring motto “Love for all, Hatred for none,” the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Huddersfield reaffirmed its dedication to fostering peace, strengthening community bonds, and upholding the timeless Islamic values of compassion and charity.
