The latest addition to Huddersfield’s art gallery is set to push the town’s artistic side into new ‘horizons’.
Already apart of the gallery’s heritage through his work ‘Einstein and the Jealous Monk (after Bob Dylan)’, purchased in 2005, the exhibition will investigate the boundary-pushing and influential works that have established Gollon’s artistic identity.
Opened on the 12th of October till the 4th of January, the exhibition will be a retrospective look at his works inspired by music and music lyrics from Bob Dylan to Neil Young to his most recent collaborator, Eleanor McEvoy, with intentions of shedding light on how one art form can influence another thus pushing it into new feeling of thought and expression.
Having pioneered movements like neologism and had his work featured in the British Museum, this exhibition will further highlight the artistic depth behind the artist. It also premiered the collaboration between IAP Fine Art and the Sleaford Mods on a collaborative film project titled ‘Firewall’ after the same track name of their album ‘Eton Alive’.
An accompanying Spotify playlist has also been created by IAP Fine Art featuring songs under CHRIS GOLLON: Beyond The Horizon.
