By Joshua Robinson –
There is one week until The Kirkwood Memory Walk, on Saturday 22nd June starting at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The Memory Walk is The Kirkwood’s flagship fundraising event, helping to raise vital funds to deliver quality care and services across the
whole of Kirklees, as people can walk either 6 or 10 miles.
Over a thousand people will walk through Huddersfield to remember the ones they love and the memories they cherish.
This year’s walk has more entertainment than ever before. In the build-up to the walk, there will be live music from The Hornbrokers, walk-about characters, and rainbow stilt performers, who are all there to create that party vibe. Facepainting, Memory Walk merch, and limited edition hoodies will be available to purchase on the night.
Furthermore, media partners Heart Radio, DJ Emma Lenney from the ‘Emma and Dixie’s’ drivetime show, will be cheering our walkers on the night and counting down the minutes till the walk starts, as well as helping the walkers to warm up ahead of either their 6 miles or 10 mile route around the streets of Huddersfield.
People can register to sign up for the walk online via Eventbrite.
Tickets are £10 per person, and groups of 10+ are £7.50 per person.
People have until Monday 17th June to sign up for The Kirkwood Memory Walk to guarantee their walker pack will be posted in time.
If people would like to register on the night, the tickets will be £20 per adult, £15 per child, and £5 per dog. Registration and entertainment open from 8 pm, with the walk setting off at 10 pm.
