On Wednesday, 25 March 2026, a remarkable display of generosity and sustainability unfolded at the Over2Hills warehouse in Cleckheaton.
Their much-anticipated Charity Furniture Giveaway welcomed registered charities and non-profits from across the region, offering them the chance to collect high-quality office furniture completely free of charge.
Founded in 2010, Over2Hills has spent over 16 years redefining what it means to recycle responsibly.
More than just a recycling company, they have built strong partnerships with over 40 charitable organisations, including Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, ensuring that usable furniture finds its way to those who need it most.
For many organisations, the impact is immediate and meaningful.
Niesha, representing a Huddersfield-based charity, shared how the initiative helps them redirect vital funds: “Over2Hills helps supply furniture, allowing us to save much-needed donation funds, and use them for their intended purpose.”
A Local Effort with Global Reach
While the event took place in West Yorkshire, the ripple effects of Over2Hills’ work extend far beyond.
Operations Manager Kairren Kershaw highlighted how donations have supported communities in London, Bristol, and even internationally.
One standout initiative saw Over2Hills donate 1,100 items, including school furniture and banqueting chairs, to support children in The Gambia.
As Kairren explained: “This donation is not just about giving furniture a second life—it’s about creating opportunities for education, growth, and a brighter future.”
Numerous Items, Countless Impacts
This year’s giveaway was no small feat. A large number of items were redistributed to charities and community organisations. The range included:
- Office chairs and ergonomic seating
- Modular desks and tables
- Office seating
- Meeting tables
- Lockers and filing cabinets
- And much more

Sustainability at the Heart
Beyond supporting charities, the event delivered significant environmental benefits.
By rehoming and recycling furniture, Over2Hills prevented substantial carbon emissions equivalent to taking a car off the road for over a year or planting more than 80 trees.
Their guiding philosophy is simple yet powerful: Landfill doesn’t need your unwanted furniture, but charities and local heroes do.
Community Spirit in Action
Adding to the day’s energy was a special raffle, bringing an extra layer of excitement for attending organisations.
Generously supported by local businesses such as Just My Look, Haigh’s Farm Shop, and Phillip Anthony Photography, the prizes reflected the strong sense of community behind the event.
Building Futures, One Desk at a Time
From a single warehouse in Cleckheaton to classrooms across The Gambia, Over2Hills continues to demonstrate how surplus resources can be transformed into meaningful change.
Their Charity Furniture Giveaway is more than an event, it’s a testament to what can be achieved when sustainability, generosity, and community come together.
In a world often focused on waste, Over2Hills offers a refreshing alternative: one where every desk, chair, and partnership helps build a brighter future.
