Doggy brunch promises food, fun and fundraising for National Dog Day

Dog lovers across Huddersfield are being invited to bring their four-legged friends along for a special celebration of National Dog Day.

RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch is hosting a National Dog Day Doggy Brunch at The Yorkshire Rose in Huddersfield on Wednesday 26 August, from 11 am to 2 pm.

The event will give dogs and their owners the chance to enjoy an afternoon of food, games, activities and fundraising, while supporting the work of the local independent RSPCA branch.

Special menu and ‘Pawsecco’ for pooches

Four-legged guests will be treated to their own specially created doggy food menu, while their owners can enjoy brunch alongside them.

Dogs will also have the opportunity to raise a paw and toast the occasion with some dog-friendly “Pawsecco”.

Alongside the food, the event will feature a fun dog show, with pooches competing for rosettes and prizes. There will also be games, activities and a photo booth, giving visitors the chance to capture memories from the day.

Supporting animals in need

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet members of the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch team and learn more about the charity’s work rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals across the area.

The event will also raise vital funds to support the branch’s work, including its Really Big ReFURb project.

The project is transforming the branch’s animal centre to provide better, safer and more modern facilities for the thousands of animals that need its support.

“National Dog Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate everything we love about our dogs, while also raising money to help animals who are still waiting for their second chance. We wanted to create a fun event where people can bring their dogs along, enjoy some delicious food and treats, take part in the dog show and games, and just have a brilliant time together.

“We’re incredibly excited to be holding the event at The Yorkshire Rose and hope lots of local dog lovers will come along to celebrate with us.’’

Dog owners are being encouraged to grab the lead, round up the family and head to The Yorkshire Rose for a day of food, fun and fundraising in support of animals in need.
