On Sunday 7th April, Radio Sangam will be hosting a celebration for Chand Raat at Huddersfield Open Market from 4 pm to midnight.

On the day there will be live entertainment, stallholders selling a range of authentic South Asian goods such as jewellery, gifts, and fragrances, and a range of authentic Asian and Middle Eastern foods.

Chand Raat (the Night of the Moon), is a Muslim holiday that occurs at the end of Ramadan and on the eve of Eid ul-Fitr.

Chand Raat falls on a different day each year depending on when the new moon appears in the sky, signalling the start of Shawwal – the tenth month of the Islamic calendar.

Everyone is invited to join in the celebration.
