KLTV’s documentary capturing the sound, colour and community spirit of Huddersfield Soundfest has officially launched, bringing the full story of the event alive.
The film covers Huddersfield Soundfest 2026, held on Saturday 15 August at Northfield Hall, Ashbrow, where music lovers, families, performers and Soundsystem enthusiasts gathered for an afternoon celebrating the rich cultural heritage behind Soundsystem culture.
Built from footage shot on the day, the documentary features powerful performances, energetic crowd scenes, Soundsystem footage and interviews with key figures involved in the event, telling the story of a defining moment in Huddersfield’s musical calendar.
Soundfest itself brought together Soundsystems from Roots Tradition Roundbeat, JNR Broadway, Ras Amharic, Lexus Audio, Earth Rocker International, Million International, Young Gunz Sound and Ras Sis Highness, with DJ Don Eye and MC Farda Fox keeping the afternoon moving.
Alongside the music, visitors experienced film screenings, a 3D Soundsystem heritage map display, pop-up exhibitions, Caribbean food and family activities, all captured on camera and now woven into the finished film.
A film rooted in heritage
The documentary captures the influence and importance of Soundsystem culture to the local community: the powerful speaker boxes, the live performances, and the sense of energy and togetherness that has made Soundsystem culture such an important part of Huddersfield’s cultural heritage.
It also gives voice to the local performers and artists who took part, using their stories to connect Huddersfield’s musical past with its present and future, the same thread that ran through the event itself.
Watch it now
The documentary is available to watch now, giving audiences the full picture of the music, atmosphere and stories captured at Soundfest 2026. It celebrates the people, music and cultural heritage behind Soundfest while marking an important moment in Huddersfield’s continuing musical story.
