According to the national charity Refuge, 1 in 4 women in England and Wales will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.
The global majority are particularly at risk, with 7.1% of people of mixed ethnicity having experienced domestic abuse within the past two years.
In this powerful second episode, Dr Milton Brown speaks with Nwugo Ugada, the founder of Let Us Speak Out CIC.
Nwugo is a domestic abuse specialist with over 33 years of lived experience as a Nigerian woman, and has a Master’s degree in Understanding Domestic and Sexual Violence.
In this interview, Nwugo reminds us that knowledge is power, and that healing can begin the moment we choose to speak up. This conversation is insightful, informative, and deeply sobering.
