BV ADF Newsdesk –
The Huddersfield Black Empowerment Programme (HBEP) is launching a series of transformational online webinars this June, aimed at inspiring dialogue, building self-worth, and empowering the Black community through meaningful conversations on history, identity, and masculinity.
Organised by Education 2000 and supported by The National Lottery, these online sessions are more than just educational events; they are a call to action for growth, unity, and lasting change.

Workshop: Our Story, Our Future – A Black History & Identity Workshop
🗓 Saturday, 21 June 2025
🕐 1 pm – 4 pm
🔗 Zoom ID: 867 0250 8654

Hosted by Dr Mark Ledwidge, this session addresses the underrepresentation of Black history and culture in mainstream education.
It aims to foster self-pride and a deeper understanding of identity, while tackling the internalised narratives that can hinder success and well-being.
Participants will explore how education can be a tool for empowerment when history and heritage are recognised and celebrated.
Why These Workshops Matter
The HBEP workshops offer a platform for shared experience, healing, and growth, especially for those who have felt disconnected from traditional educational and social systems.
Whether discussing the pressures of masculinity or reclaiming historical narratives, these webinars create space for voices that matter.
