An exclusive one-day event to teach nature-based mindset, fitness techniques, and an ice-bath challenge for overcoming difficulties will be held at Bagden Hall on Bank Holiday Monday, 1st May.
The event is organized by Parent Sanctuary and The Resilient Lifestyle, supported by the HD8 Network.
Tickets start at £65 and include lunch.
The event will be led by Rachel, a mother of four who runs Parent Sanctuary, a business supporting other parents’ physical and mental health.
Muscular Dystrophy
Rachel juggles her children’s needs while managing her business, even with the added challenge of dealing with her son’s diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
DMD affects one in 3500-5000 male births and is 100% fatal, with boys typically dying in their 20s.
Rachel’s son, Hero, has delayed speech and frequently falls due to his condition. Before he finishes high school, he will be in a wheelchair full time.
The family has set up a Family Fund through Muscular Dystrophy UK to raise awareness and money to find a cure for DMD and to help boys with DMD live longer.

The fundraiser will be taking place at Bagden Hall on Bank Holiday Monday, 1st May
Giving Back
Rachel wants to give back by sharing her skills in transformational coaching and training in health and wellbeing.
She will lead the day with inspirational and educational learning opportunities, mindfulness, and meditation.
Graham, founder of The Resilient Lifestyle company, will donate his time to bring Fitness4x4, a unique combination of Yoga, Pilates, Aerobics, and Resistance Training to help support the day and give participants a full-body workout.
The event will culminate in an ultimate challenge of an ice bath, which is entirely optional but invigorating and potentially beneficial for people with pain or emotional difficulties.
Join Rachel on 1st May for the launch of her son’s charity, Hero’s Fight Against DMD, and enjoy a day of Mindset and Motivation.
More information is available on the event page, and those who cannot attend can inquire about other challenges by sending a message to Rachel@Parentsantuary.co.uk with the subject HERO.
