Kirklees Local Television (KLTV) is proud to announce the upcoming launch of its latest documentary, Honouring Huddersfield’s Windrush Forgotten Veterans, which will premiere on Saturday, 4th October 2025, on KLTV’s African Descendants Forum.

The documentary follows a hugely successful premiere at Greenhead Masonic Hall in July, which saw a packed audience of veterans, families, community members and dignitaries gather to honour the African Caribbean men and women of Huddersfield who served in the British Armed Forces.

This was then followed by an equally successful community launch on the 29th of September, featured in the latest trailer.

Produced with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the documentary explores African Caribbean military service from the 1790s through to the present day, with a particular focus on veterans from Huddersfield and their families.

Over 700 hours of research, interviews and editing have gone into the project, which aims to preserve this vital legacy for generations to come.
