Kirklees Local TV (KLTV) proudly presents our latest feature-length documentary, shining a light on the untold stories of Huddersfield’s Windrush descendants who served in the British Armed Forces.

The film, which premiered to a packed audience at Greenhead Masonic Hall in July, explores the hidden histories of Windrush descendants from Huddersfield who served in the British Armed Forces.

Featuring moving first-hand testimonies from veterans such as Joyce Britton, Lloyd Brown, and Dr Milton Brown, alongside contributions from historians, civic leaders, and community advocates, the documentary sheds light on stories too often left untold.

From the 1970s to the early 2000s, these men and women carried a legacy of courage, resilience, and sacrifice. Their stories, long overlooked, are finally given the recognition they deserve.

Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project also includes a digital educational resource for schools and colleges, ensuring younger generations engage with the legacy of Black British service personnel.
