In this episode, Judy is joined in the studio by Emira Ramic, a Bosnian artist based in Huddersfield. Emira grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where her early love of art and music began to take shape. From a young age, her creativity was recognised and encouraged, sparking a lifelong passion for artistic expression.

Emira’s journey has been shaped by both creativity and resilience. After training as a music teacher and working in education, her life changed dramatically during the Bosnian War. In 1993, she moved to the UK with her young son and was reunited with her family in West Yorkshire, where she has lived ever since.

Over the years, Emira has continued to develop her artistic practice, drawing inspiration from nature, memory, and personal experience. Her work often features landscapes, rivers, flowers, and portraits, many of which are created from imagination. Through her art, she also reflects on themes of war, peace, and identity, using creativity as a way to share powerful messages and connect with others.

Now an established artist, Emira regularly exhibits her work and remains deeply committed to her craft, as well as to promoting peace through art.
