The Kirkwood are proud to announce the launch of their Ramadan campaign this week. Throughout the holy month, the Kirklees-based charity aim to raise awareness of their services and encourage local communities to consider giving a gift to support their work.
With the spirit of giving and compassion at the forefront of Ramadan, as well as a heightened sense of community and togetherness, The Kirkwood’s campaign hopes to raise funds to help care for people with any life-limiting illness across the Kirklees community, whether that’s cancer, heart disease, COPD, or any other.
Throughout the month of Ramadan, Muslims around the world are called upon to engage in acts of charity and generosity. As part of their commitment to this tradition, The Kirkwood are doubling their efforts to showcase the impact their services have on the lives of those facing a life-limiting illness, no matter their faith, background, disability, gender, and sexual orientation.
The charity hopes their latest campaign will create a platform for individuals and businesses to come together and contribute to a cause that embodies the values of empathy and solidarity.
The Kirkwood’s Fundraising Manager, Altaf Hussain, said: “We are excited to launch our Ramadan fundraising campaign, which aligns with the core principles of compassion and humanitarianism that define the spirit of Ramadan.”
“We believe that everyone deserves to experience the blessings of this holy month, and through this initiative, we aim to provide care and support to those who are living with a life limiting illness, not just at our site in Dalton, but in homes right across Kirklees.”

There are many ways to get involved with The Kirkwood’s Ramadan campaign, from taking part in fundraising activities, including donating, to engaging with the charity on social media or being part of a special community event.
With a focus on accessibility and inclusivity, the campaign aims to engage with individuals from all walks of life, inviting them to participate in making a positive difference in the lives of others. The Kirkwood’s fundraising efforts will directly contribute towards the care of their patients and loved ones.
That support is received both on The Kirkwood’s In-Patient Unit and out in the community of Kirklees, with their experienced team of community nurses providing care and support which meets the individual’s needs and circumstances.
By fostering a sense of togetherness and shared responsibility, The Kirkwood endeavors to create a supportive environment where those in need can receive assistance and experience a sense of belonging during Ramadan.
Throughout Ramadan, The Kirkwood is also encouraging people to forgo their daily Costa or Starbucks habit, or perhaps that weekly chocolate fix, and donate the money they would usually spend to help people being cared for by the charity.
