Exciting news for the Kirklees community as The Kirkwood Memory Walk returns for 2023, with some changes aimed at making the event more accessible than ever before.
The John Smith’s Stadium will be the venue for the event on Saturday, 1st July, with entertainment and registration opening at 8 pm.
Previously known as the Midnight Memory Walk, this emotionally charged event brings hundreds of people together to raise funds for The Kirkwood and remember loved ones who are no longer with us.
This year, the charity is asking participants a fundamental question: Who are you walking for?
To make the walk more accessible for families, the start time has been brought forward to 10 pm.
Kirkwood believes everyone, old or young, should have the chance to take part in this special annual event.
The charity hopes the earlier start time will encourage more families to join in the walk while still enjoying the same community spirit.
To take part in the walk, it will cost just £10 for adults and £8 for children aged under 16.
The Kirkwood offers a fantastic Early Bird Offer until Sunday, 30th April, for those who sign up early.
Every penny raised in sponsorship from this event makes a difference to the patients and families cared for by The Kirkwood, not just at their site in Dalton but across the whole of Kirklees.
From the moment someone is diagnosed with a life-limiting illness until the end of their life, The Kirkwood supports those in need.
By participating in the walk, participants will be helping to support families dealing with grief or allowing the charity to care for someone who needs their help.
The Kirkwood Memory Walk is the biggest fundraiser of the year for The Kirkwood.
With its return, it gives the Kirklees community a chance to unite in unison, remembering those loved ones who are no longer with us.
It’s easy to sign up for The Kirkwood Memory Walk online or over the phone.
And don’t forget, if you sign up by midnight on Sunday 30th, April, you’ll receive a special discount.
So, register today and join The Kirkwood Memory Walk for what promises to be a fantastic night.
