AVL Fitness Gym opens its doors for Veterans’ open evening on Friday 1st August.
Veterans in the Slaithwaite area are being invited to a special open evening on Friday 1st August at AVL Fitness Gym, a community-focused space run by local Veteran Aaron, who is passionate about creating a supportive environment for those who have served in the Armed Forces.
Aaron, himself a Veteran, has transformed part of his gym into a sanctuary for ex-service personnel, a place he calls The Served.
With no formalities or expectations, The Served is designed to offer Veterans a chance to reconnect with others, reflect in peace, or simply find comfort in a shared understanding.
A Veteran-Led Space for Community and Calm
On their website, The Served is described as “No ceremony, no rigid structure, no pressure to perform. Whether you need a moment of calm, a familiar nod, or a place to belong again – The Served is built for that. Veteran-led and grounded in respect.”
The open evening will be informal and welcoming, providing an opportunity for local Veterans to see the space, meet Aaron, and connect with others in the area.
There will be no set agenda, just a supportive environment for those who may be seeking community or calm.
Spreading the Word
It is hoped that the evening will be a first step in building a stronger local network of those who’ve served, whether recently or long ago, and including those still serving.
All Veterans are welcome to drop in and explore what The Served has to offer. Details can be found using the flyer above or on The Served Facebook Page, or on their website.
