Kirklees Local Television was proud to attend and take part in ‘The Value of Culture’, the Culture Collective’s end-of-year event, held on 5 December 2025 at the grassroots music venue AMPED in Huddersfield.

The venue was alive with conversation and creative energy as artists, cultural organisations, innovative practitioners and academics from across the borough came together for an afternoon focused on the importance, impact and future of culture in Kirklees.

The event provided a clear and compelling reflection of the Culture Collective’s core mission: to represent, support, and advocate for the cultural sector at both local and strategic levels.

Throughout the event, KLTV was on hand to capture key moments, discussions and perspectives, highlighting the voices of those working at the heart of Kirklees’ creative and cultural landscape.

As a network representing more than 80 arts organisations, creative businesses and independent artists, the Culture Collective plays a vital role in uniting the sector and ensuring it is visible, connected and heard.

The Collective works to bridge the gap between cultural organisations, the local authority and wider policy makers, funders and governing bodies.

It provides space for open discussion, relationship-building, collaboration and collective action around sector-specific and place-based priorities.

A strong emphasis is also placed on increasing representation within the cultural sector, ensuring it better reflects the diversity of the communities it serves, while encouraging the sharing of knowledge and information to support growth and development across the local arts scene.
