June has been celebrated across the UK as Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month (GRTHM) since 2008.

Through celebration, education, and raising awareness, GRTHM helps to tackle prejudice, change the story, and amplify the voices of the Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities.

Below is a YouTube video called ‘Roads of the Past’ for a brief history of the community that charts the origins of the Gypsies, Roma, and Travellers.

Holmfirth Library and the Huddersfield Local Studies Library have displays to mark the month.
