318,170 people are registered to vote in the Kirklees local elections on Thursday 2nd May. This article will provide some key information when it comes to voting in the local elections.

Where to vote?

Residents’ respective polling station addresses will be shown on people’s poll cards, which should have been posted recently. Or people can easily find their polling station on the Where Do I Vote? website.

Polling stations are open from 7 am to 10 pm, people can go any time in between.

Photo ID

Voters nationwide will need to show photo ID when voting at polling stations. Voters will need to bring a photo ID with them to the polling station on Thursday 2nd May. People can find out what types of ID they can bring on the Kirklees Council website.

When will the results be known?

Votes in the local elections will be verified and counted on Friday 3rd May, starting at 8 am.

Votes in the West Yorkshire Mayoral election will be verified and counted on Saturday 4th May, starting at 10 am.
