The highlight of the season is the theatre’s award-winning Christmas pantomime, ‘Dick Whittington’.

Running from 2nd to 31st December, this beloved rags-to-riches tale follows Dick and his lovable cat on their quest for fortune in London.

With a hysterical script, toe-tapping musical numbers, dazzling costumes, and spellbinding effects, this panto promises to be a must-see for families and theatre lovers alike.

Christmas Market

On 7th December, the theatre’s stunning courtyard will transform into a festive Christmas Market.

Local independent traders will offer a variety of goods, perfect for holiday shopping.

Visitors can also enjoy delicious hot chocolate or a warming mulled wine from the open bar, creating a truly festive atmosphere.

Swing Into Christmas

Music enthusiasts can look forward to “Swing Into Christmas” on 18th December.

This unique celebration features the 30-piece orchestra, Down for the Count, delivering the best music from the swing era.

With limited tickets remaining, this event is set to be a swinging success.

Christmas Comedy Cellar

For those seeking laughter this festive season, the Christmas Comedy Cellar on 19th December is not to be missed.

Featuring top comedians Stephen Carlin, hailed as “The Sean Lock of his generation” by the BBC, and Seeta Wrightson, praised by Kiri Pritchard McLean, this special edition promises an evening of jolly jokes and festive cheer.

Christmas Heroes Appeal

In the spirit of giving, the Lawrence Batley Theatre’s Christmas Heroes appeal is ongoing, aiming to raise £15,000 to bring the magic of theatre to children.

With £10,000 already raised, the theatre invites the community to help reach the target.

Each £19 donation provides a child with a VIP theatre experience, including a ticket, show programme, and free ice cream.

Donations can be made via the theatre’s website, Box Office, or by cheque.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Looking ahead, the theatre has announced its 2025 pantomime, “Beauty and the Beast.” Tickets go on sale on 2nd December, with an early booking offer available until the end of January.
