The Yorkshire Motorsport Festival (YMSF) has secured the green light to go ahead this week. The festival runs this weekend – 25-27 June – in Holmfirth. The weekend is packed full of performing, competing and showing motor machines.
The festival also hosts a range of Artisan Trade stands, the Fashion Show, Street Food and much more.
Unfortunatley, following the delay to the easing of lockdown, the Yorkshire Motorsport Festival is restricted to 4,000 attendees per day. YMSF adjusted their schedule and are committed to making the brand new festival a fantastic event regardless of restrictions.
Here’s everything you need to know about the updated COVID-19 measures:
Compulsory COVID-19 testing
After discussions with Kirklees Council, Public Health Officials, and reviewing the national regulations, the Festival has settled on new restrictions:
- Everyone aged 11 + must have had a negative COVID-19 Test result before their arrival on-site to enter the festival.
- Including everyone who has been vaccinated in order to safeguard everyone attending the festival.
How to get a COVID-19 test:
- To ensure you can enter the festival, you can get a free Lateral Flow Tests by ordering online, or you can collect from most pharmacies and test centres.
- Alternatively, if you cannot complete the Rapid lateral flow test before the festival, there will be a dedicated, sanitised and secure test station on site. Attendees will have to complete the test and await results (approx. 30 minutes) before entering the festival site.
- The test stations will be in a Marquee and regularily sanitised.
- YMSF have asked all adults with smartphones to download the NHS Track and Trace app in preparation for entering the festival
- Once a ticket has been purchased, you will receive an email with a link to process your COVID secure entry. YMSF will guide attendees through the procedure to ensure smooth access to the Festival site
- The Lateral Flow Test result is the evidence that attendees will need to display at the entrance to the Festival along with the ticket/wristband. The Festival Stewards will assist all attendees who need help.
Changes to the schedule
Yorkshire Motorsport Festival regret to inform attendees that there can be no staged musical entertainment a the Festival.
By way of compensation, the organisers are offering a free Family ticket for the Festival in 2022 for all ticket holders for this year’s Festival.
Road Closures
From 25 – 27 June, Holmfirth and its surrounding areas will be very busy with queues expected. The roads affected by the closures include:
- Wolfstones Road, from Wilshaw Road to Bradshaw Road.
- Bradshaw Road, from Wilshaw Road to Thick Hollins Road.
- Wilshaw Mill Road, from near the Entrance to Australia Farm to Bradshaw Road.
- Wickens Lane, from Lower Wickens Farm to Wolfstones Road.
The road closures allow the festival teams to prepare the festival site. However, residents will still have access to the closed roads, but media teams will not. Additionally, preparatory and take-down works will be operative from 21 – 24 June 2021 and 28 to 29 June 2021.
Full road closures for the festival will be in place for the three days of the festival from June 25 – 27, 2021 – access for residents will still be available by arrangement.
Diversionary routes will be in place and signposted throughout the entire duration of the closures.
