The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth and Elders Association recently held a community walk in Huddersfield, attracting over 259 participants, including prominent faith leaders, civic members, and dignitaries.

Among the notable attendees were Deputy Lord Lieutenant Major Stan Hardy and Munir Ahmed, Kirklees Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Highways.

Fatihul Haq, the External Affairs Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Huddersfield, highlighted the significance of the event.

He stated that the walk is part of a longstanding tradition within the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, aimed at supporting those less fortunate, including the homeless and various local and national charities.

Charity Commitments

This year alone, the community has raised over a million pounds to aid those in need.

The focus of this particular walk was to support the Mirfield Food Bank, further demonstrating the community’s ongoing commitment to charity and social welfare.

The event underscored the core Islamic values of peace, compassion, and community cohesion, which guide the activities of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

The community’s motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None,” was prominently reflected in the spirit of the walk, which brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Participants of all ages, including women, children, and disabled individuals, showcased their enthusiasm and dedication to the cause.

The event highlighted the importance of instilling values of compassion, brotherhood, and community cohesion in the younger generation, ensuring they grow into responsible and caring members of society.

Unity

At the event’s conclusion, medals and food were distributed, and the organisers expressed their gratitude to everyone involved.

Mr. Sabahat Karim, the Youth Leader, and Mr. Sadakat Ahmad, representing the Elderly organisation, thanked all participants for their support.

A strong sense of unity and purpose was felt by all, reinforcing the community’s commitment to promoting positive activities that foster peace and mutual respect.

In these challenging times, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community remains steadfast in its mission to contribute to the well-being of society through various initiatives, including blood donation drives, tree planting, peace symposiums, and interfaith events.
