The EPIKS Walk, Wheel, Ride roadshow was a huge success last month, where fifty riders were given the chance to find out more about choosing, buying, and riding an e-bike at John Smith’s Stadium and Dewsbury Country Park.
In a hilly area like Kirklees, e-bikes can be useful to get around, and they can make cycling much easier for those with less than stellar fitness or who have extra stuff to carry. There are also a variety of different kinds of e-bikes for people to choose from.
However, what kind of e-bike will be most beneficial for people?
The answer will vary depending on what people want to use it for. Check out the EPIKS’s guide to local bike shops and contact one to see if they can arrange a test ride. Some shops (e.g. Halfords) charge a refundable deposit for this.
There are also e-bike demo events and showcases around the area – click here for a list of current ones.
People can also hire e-bikes to try from the following places in or near Kirklees:
- Colne Valley e-bike hire
- Manchester Bikes,
- Juiced Up Bikes, Sowerby Bridge
- Talio Bikes, Leeds
