Niki Hill, Programme Manager for the National Health Innovation Campus at the University of Huddersfield, is spearheading efforts to address significant health challenges in Yorkshire and the Humber. With the region facing the third-lowest life expectancy in England, high obesity levels, and elevated infant mortality rates, the new campus aims to transform healthcare outcomes through innovation and collaboration.

“We’re creating an ecosystem of organisations to support and work in partnership with,” explained Hill. The programme is supported by UK Prosperity Fund funding from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, which is being channelled to foster partnerships and drive innovative solutions.

Strategically located along the M62 corridor, the campus will serve communities across West and South Yorkshire as well as Greater Manchester. It will act as a vital hub for healthcare services, education, and innovation, striving to set new standards in healthcare delivery while addressing pressing regional health disparities.

By uniting key stakeholders and regional organisations, Hill’s work is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of people in the region, paving the way for a healthier future.
