Huddersfield Businesses such as a nail bar, hair salon a pub and card shop have signed onto a safe zone scheme offering refuge for people in danger.
Delicious Deserts has set up a scheme after arise of knife attacks around Huddersfield, the parlour itself on Trinity street opening itself up as a safe zone.
After this another 12 businesses in the area have agreed to join the scheme, meaning anyone who feels in danger can take refuge in their business while the owners call the police.
Waseem Naeem, owner of the desert parlour said “I have had a logo done and am getting window stickers out to businesses who have joined up and would love to get more businesses on board.
“The response has been great and helps build community spirit.
“The main aim is to build community cohesion and is a positive preventative measure for anyone who needs help or is in danger.”
Its expected more businesses in the area will join the scheme as it grows.
