Huddersfield Town announced today that they have signed Republic of Ireland Under-21 international attacker Danny Grant.
The 20-year-old will join the club on 2 January 2021, subject to international clearance.
Danny has agreed on a long-term contract with Town running until the summer of 2023, with the Club having the option on a further year’s extension afterwards.
Previous Accolades
The young attacker joins Huddersfield after having helped League of Ireland Premier League side Bohemian to a second-place finish during their 2020 season.
Grant also saw his first three caps for the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21 squad.
He’s the most recent recipient if the PFAI Young Player of the Year Award.
Danny, born in Lucan, west of Dublin, has scored seven goals form 17 games this season, for a total of 14 in 60 appearances for Bohemian.
It certainly appears that Huddersfield Manager Carlos Corberan is looking for promising young players such as Danny to help bolster the squad through development and further training.
‘Exciting Player’
Speaking on the signing, Huddersfield Town’s Head of Football Operations, Leigh Bromby commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Danny to the Club today, and to begin working with him. He’s an exciting player who has the potential to really develop here.
“Danny has a lot of attributes that really suit our style of play. He’s a right-footed player who can play across the front three but is particularly adept at cutting in from the left side.
“Just as importantly, you can see his enthusiasm in games, both when attacking and in doing his defensive work.
“The step up to the Sky Bet Championship will be significant for Danny, and he will begin that development in training with the B Team alongside the First Team squad.
“His task is to emulate the likes of Josh Koroma, who has really developed with us on the training pitches before coming into our team and making a big impact on our team and the division.”
Grant was all smiles in his first offical photos for Huddersfield Town, saying on Twitter that he was “Over the moon” and “Can’t wait for the challenge ahead”.
