Visitors to Oakwell Hall Country Park in Birstall on Bank Holiday Monday, 1 May, can enjoy traditional May Day activities including Maypole dancing and country dance demonstrations.
The Friends of Oakwell have organised the ‘Maypole Monday’ event, which will feature maypole dancing and country dance demonstrations that anyone can take part in.
The event will take place on the lawn in front of the Hall between 2 pm and 4 pm. The Hall itself will be will be open from 12noon to 4 pm.
Bagshaw Museum will also be open from 12 pm to 5 pm for the bank holiday on 1 May with a children’s trail, ice creams, refreshments and giant games on the lawn.
