This year the Huddersfield Students’ Union is supporting The Welcome Centre – a food bank and charity located in the heart of Huddersfield town centre.
Last Friday they announced The Welcome Centre as their ‘Charity of the Year’.
The Students’ Union has ensured that there are several possible ways to donate and help out over this Christmas. There are three ways to donate:
Text to Donate:
You can simply text to donate money ranging from a £2 donation to a £10 donation.
Donation box located on Student Central:
There has been a box located on Floor 5 of Student Central where students can bring donations.
The SU have publicised a link to specific shortages that the Welcome Centre of facing
Buy a Care Package:
For those who can’t make it on campus or don’t feel comfortable you can buy ‘essential pack’ or ‘Christmas pack’ on the SU website
What else?
There are also donation spots outside of the Student Union’s support where students and the public can donate food all around Huddersfield. Including many of the large supermarkets, Packhorse shopping centre among more
