Due to the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Kirklees Local TV will be reducing its activity in its main office from Monday the 23rd March to 6th April.
We will do our best to minimise disruption to our regular content schedule. However, it is likely there will be fewer videos and articles in the coming weeks, as we reduce our human resources in our office.
We will continue to follow the guidelines put forward by the World Health Organisation, NHS, Kirklees Council, and the Department of Health and Social Care, and encourage all others to do the same, including social distancing and washing hands.
These are uncertain times, but we must continue to work together for the good of everyone in our community. In that spirit, we’d like to share a few resources that may help in this trying time.
NHS stay at home advice:
NHS 111 service – for reporting any potential symptoms
COVID-19 Mutual Aid UK – A resource for helping support the most vulnerable in our community:
NHS Every Mind Matters – Advice for looking after your mental health:
Kirklees Council’s Community Support Pack Download – Health advice, help cards, and other important information:
We’d also like to share a few, more enjoyable, resources to help with the doldrum of staying at home (other than binging Netflix of course).
BFI’s ‘Britain on Film’ Archive – Hundreds of free movies, from documentaries to adverts, all presented as pins on a map of Britain.
Kirklees Libraries ‘E-Library’ – Just like a regular library, only online. Access thousands of books, articles and newspapers, all completely free.
Xbox Game Pass – For those looking to keep young ones entertained, hundreds of games available to download and play for just a few pounds a month.
Sports fans, Huddersfield town are releasing FULL matches for you to watch online over on their YouTube channel
We’d like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support. Please, be kind to one another, stay smart, and stay safe.
