The peak time for partying, Halloween unites us all to spend the night (and surrounding week) adorned in ridiculous outfits whilst swaying back and forth between venue to venue. With so much precious time being focused on getting absolutely slaughtered, the task of finding the hot spot to go to can be both daunting, frustrating and even disorientating. To ease your minds and ensure you get the most of your Halloween we’ve put together a list of the hottest nights in Huddersfield this Halloween.
The Parish
Perhaps the most dedicated to this year’s event, The Parish is going all out with their ‘The Shining’ theme from the 26th-2nd. From creepy twins to bathtub cocktails to ghoulish DJs, The Parish offering a full-on extravaganza for this year’s event. They also have a stacked lineup with Mordenstein (a Rammstein tribute act) and Melt Banana playing throughout the week. Regardless of if this is your cup of tea, it can’t be denied that The Parish knows how to bring out that dark party side from you.
Five Bar
The award for this year’s go-to event goes to ‘In the trap: Halloween edition’ at Five. A change from the soulless and cheesy music offered up at Tokyo or the more rock orientated vibes at Camel Club, a place we’ll discuss later, the music set to be played there sits better with contemporary tastes. From Hip-Hop to RnB to other similar genres, Huddersfield’s MDP society will be spearheading the night, guaranteeing the slickest of mixes from Huddersfield’s most up and coming. With £2 Singles of house spirit, £3 Doubles, £2 Pints and £6 Dirty Sprites (an interesting offer if authentic), Five are offering a cheap night as well as a fire one.
Basement
Already sitting high and mighty as Huddersfield’s best underground venue, Basement will be the most relentless, hard-hitting night of the Halloween week. Taking a step back from their usual style of events, Basement will wholeheartedly devote themselves to a full Levelz takeover as they host the Manchester collective’s diverse range of acts. Spanning from deep dub from heavyweight Biome to top tier Junglism courtesy of MC Fox, the night promises to be an adrenaline-charged skank fest.
Camel
A club that keeps a similar dingy vibe throughout the year, Camel Club comes into its own on Halloween. With its spookily prevailed vibe and cheap drinks, the club seems set to be filled with all types of oddities from ‘sexy zombies to red bull cans sticking out of people’s faces’.
