This year, as November rolls by, the bonfires make their rounds across Kirklees for Bonfire Night 2021. Here’s a quick round-up of the bonfire events you can catch around Kirklees this year, as well as a reminder of the essential safety guidelines to keep in mind this bonfire night.
Storthes Hall, The Venue Bonfire | Kirkburton | Sunday 7 November – 4 pm
The annual Storthes Hall bonfire night returns on Sunday, 7 November. The event is family-friendly, with all welcome to join the event. It has also become a renowned student event with The Venues backing onto the student village of Storthes Hall.
You can get to the event with the Storthes Hall Park bus, located outside the University of Huddersfield. There is also free parking available at Storthes Hall Park.
The event goes beyond fireworks with a huge bonfire, funfair, fire breathers, and the final firework display.

- Bonfire – 6 pm start
- Firework display – 7.30 pm

Mirfield Round Table charity bonfire and fireworks night | Mirfield | Saturday 6 November – 5pm
The Mirfield Round Table charity bonfire and fireworks night returns this Saturday. The bonfire will have a range of hot food, drinks and snacks from various vendors as well as a fairground, fire lighting and fireworks. The bonfire night helps raise money for local charities.

- Gates open – 5 pm
- Fire lighting – 6.30 pm start
- Fireworks – 7 pm start

Tickets for Adults (13 years +) are £4.00 and for anyone 12 years old and below are £1, any additional donations while purchasing a ticket are donated directly back to local community projects and charities. Buy tickets.
Fire Service Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza | Birkenshaw | Saturday 6 November – 5pm
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service host a Fireworks Extravaganza this Saturday at Oakroyd Hall – the team’s headquarters. The bonfire includes an autism-friendly hour, mini displays for small children as well as the main fireworks event.
Additionally, the bonfire will be COVID-secure, so places are limited.

- Gates open – 5:00pm,
- Large bonfire lit – 6.30pm
- Autism Friendly – 7pm – 7:30pm.
- Mini Fireworks Display – for small children
- Main Fireworks event at 8.15pm

However, numbers are limited, so an early arrival will help guarantee an entry and tickets are sold at the gate.
Adults tickets are £8, Children’s £5 and Under 5s go free – all profits from the night go to the Fire Fighters Charity.
Penistone Bonfire and Fireworks Display | Penistone | Saturday 6 November – 6:30pm
Penistone Round Table has organised a professional fireworks display and community bonfire for this bonfire weekend. The bonfire will have hot food and drinks available, including refreshments by the Penistone Ladies Circle, stalls selling various products and onsite Music and Entertainment by Penistone FM.
Profits from the event get donated directly back into the local organisations and community.

- Gates open – 6.30 pm
- Bonfire lighting – 7.15 pm
- Firework display – 7.30 pm

You can buy a ticket at the gate for £5 but can also get discounted pre-booked tickets. Adult tickets are £4 online, and those under 16 can go free – Online tickets.
