KLTV Recently visited the Woodhouse Community Centre in Leeds for the first African Co-Creation Workshop, hosted by Author Ndidi Nkwopara, ahead of the city’s Year of Culture 2023.
This community-led project aims to highlight the culture and creativity of the African Diaspora in Leeds, who are the 2nd largest ethnic group in the region.
The project is part of Leeds 2023’s ‘My World My City My Neighbourhood’, which celebrates and highlights the unique stories found all across the city, in the run-up to the year.
Author Ndidi Nkwopara is working in collaboration with Leeds African Communities Trust to tell the stories of African migrants in the local area.
This short film highlights the day’s events, including interactive group sessions and some wonderful cuisine to boot!
Additional workshops will be taking place throughout 2020, for the latest updates, follow Soaring with Didi on Instagram: www.instagram.com/soaringwithdidi/
