Kirklees Council has launched a free Start-up Programme to support businesses in Kirklees. The Start-Up programme offers various free support for businesses. It includes an initial 1-2-1 meeting with a specialist advisor and online workshops. In addition, businesses can access fact sheets on marketing, finance and other vital elements of creating a business.
It also offers support on navigating essential council services, searching for property and 8-hours of mentoring for eligible businesses.
Who is eligible?
The programme is for businesses in the Kirklees area who have been trading for less than three years. However, people considering starting a business are also eligible.
“Excellent opportunity.”
Councillor Peter McBride, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “Small businesses are vital to the local economy and we want to support them to recover and thrive, especially during this challenging period.
“At the same time, as the economic effects of the pandemic become clearer, sadly, many people may well lose their jobs. Some may naturally consider self-employment – and we want to ensure those people can easily access the advice and support they need.
“The Start-Up Programme is an excellent opportunity for new businesses in Kirklees and sits perfectly alongside the business support that is on offer for more established businesses or those start-ups with high growth potential.
“We want small businesses to know that the council will help you.”
