Huddersfield Giants will be facing rival side Leeds Rhinos on Sunday the 2nd of May, 15:00 KO.
Team News
Thanks to their uncharacteristically poor start to the season, this is going to be a tough game for the Giants and one where they’ll need to find their footing and fast
Four games into the season and the Giants have yet to add a single win to the scoresheet leaving them floundering in 10th place, but tomorrow is going to be a good opportunity and a great chance for them to redeem themselves.
The Giants last played St Helens who beat the Giants 18-10. Currently, St Helens are at the top of the Super League with 5/5 wins grabbed.
With the performance that Huddersfield put in, it’s a game that could have gone either way.
A win tomorrow would certainly be a big boost for the team and give each player that boost in confidence for the upcoming games as the season gets into full swing.
Leeds Rhinos
Leeds are currently 8th in the Super League table with just one win under their belt so far this season.
Looking at the performances that Leeds have had this season they are not a weak team, but they are probably not on the start that they were hoping for.
The last time Leeds and Huddersfield matched up was early September last year. This was an incredibly close game between the two sides, but Leeds just took the edge in the end, with a late kick coming from Luke Gale to give the Rhinos the much-needed winning point.
With a final score of 13-12, it is clear that both sides were very even within the competition of that game.
One player to watch for Leeds Rhinos is Rhyse Martin. This player has stood out to me so far with his conversions and his work rate on the field. For the Wakefield v Leeds match, Martin converted a total of 4/5 which is very impressive.
Prediction
This game is going to be a tough one and with a lot of pressure on both sides already from the results that they have been bringing back to the table, this is going to offer a big shift in fortunes for the winning side.
Huddersfield have not managed to get a win so far this season, so I think that there is that added pressure to the team, knowing they need to get a win sooner rather than later. The Giants have a strong team and are more than capable of securing their first win. Therefore, I predict:
