This year we will finally see the release of the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake. When it was originally released 23 years ago, Final Fantasy VII changed the way people saw JPRGs and normal RPGs could be made. It truly brought forth a fantastic story that gripped fans of the series which its traditional mechanics from previous games, but there was a twist and that was the new cinematic scenes that revolutionized storytelling in video games.
Final Fantasy VII REMAKE will aim to do the same as the original by reimagining the story for the latest generation of gamers.
Unfortunately, I was not a part of the group that was able to play Final Fantasy VII (considering I was only born that year). The game changed the landscape of games with its storytelling and brought Final Fantasy to the world in the mainstream. The games also ended up setting up the theme of modern but slightly futuristic technology in its games such as Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy XV.

One of the most famous scenes in Final Fantasy VII is also one of the industry’s most famous moments which is the death of Aerith. This is one of the most famous deaths in gaming and also one of the most controversial. Some fans still feel that they should use the remake to correct this death which is unlikely it would be done.
With the new game, they will aim to improve on the original in the best possible way. Take the main city Midgar. This is a very gritty city and with previous games and limitations in graphics and hardware, they were not able to demonstrate it the way they wanted to. But now Midgar will be grittier than ever and with the new technology, it will look more real than ever.
With the environment, I feel that it will give new life to the game. This is because other than the Advent Children film, FFVII has not had an updated look. This is why I think that for gamers who have heard but never played the original, this game will be something they never forget.

With this new game, we will get to see the eco-terrorist organization AVALANCHE and their war against Shinra from a whole new perspective. We will also get to see the interactions of characters such as Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Aerith and more. We will also get a new look at organizations such as the Turks or Soldier.
A new Soldier called Weight has also been introduced and this will add even more interactions for the characters. There are also more interactions between characters in the mafia boss Don Corneo. So, with the remake, we can expect a lot of content we have not seen or heard before.
I hope there will be new content that features Zack Fair, as he is a major character in the series. Hopefully, they could remake crisis core as an expansion or separate game. But I feel it would bring a more complete back story to the game. The same can also be said for Vincent Valentine’s backstory and how that ties into the story of the game.

When it comes to the content of the game, a lot of what will be seen is from the original game but a new modern look. But they have revealed a new character in the Soldier Weight and we have seen some new interactions, and this would be in the early parts of the game. So, all together we can expect more content for a more modern reimagining which I feel will ultimately lead to a much better experience.
There have also been mentions of people who have been hands-on with the game seeing Ifrit, Shiva, and Leviathan. These are some of the most famous summons and it will be fantastic to see them and what their updated designs look like.
Thanks to the game’s updated gameplay, the impact we get from the gameplay is that much greater. We will most likely find ourselves more immersed than ever before. With the mix of real-time combat and combat selection, which we have not seen since Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3. It looks like we will have a more refined experience for gameplay as they have had plenty of time to work out the kinks to maximize the gameplay.

From the gameplay that has been seen, when using the characters such as Cloud you will have to use your basic attacks to fill up the ATB bar, so you can spend it on skills or magic. You will have to do this while dodging but you can also use the command mode. This slows downtime and will also allow you to give commands to your party members which will make your gameplay more tactical. Like previous games, there will also be shortcuts for you to use in battle that will give for better combat.
From the latest trailer, we got a look at some of the new characters as well as the updated look for the new ones. From Weight to Red XIII we will see a new Final Fantasy VII not a remake but a reimagining.
This is a game that I look forward to seeing and I hope you do as well. So that’s it from me and hope you enjoyed this article and stick around for more content from us.
