The votes have been counted and the results for the 2021 Kirklees Elections have been coming in throughout the day (8 May).
The public cast their vote on Thursday for the larger than usual elections as a result of the ongoing pandemic.
The official count took place at Cathedral House in Huddersfield over three sessions, starting at 8:45 am, and finishing at 7:15 pm.

Final Results
With the results finalised, it is confirmed that Kirklees Council will remain in No Overall Control.
Full total number for of constituencies for each party is as follows:
Labour – 12
Conservative – 9
Liberal Democarts – 2
Green – 1
Independents – 1
The Conservativem Party had the biggest increase in seats, gaining three. The Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats have both gained one seat. Two of the seats were vacant.
Tomorrow (9 May) will see the results of the first election for Mayor of West Yorkshire.
