Kirklees Year of Music 2023 and the Gainshare programme will host their first networking event this month. The event will be for local residents working in the music and entertainment industry and provide an opportunity to discuss the impact of the pandemic and plans for the future.
Lawrence Batley Theatre Cellar Bar will host the event on 12 November; open to anyone working in the music and entertainment industry whether venue owners, musicians, artists, local music teachers and beyond.
At the event, the Year of Music team will present plans for their music industry programme, support for the industry and support from other areas of Kirklees Council for the first time.
Once the evening of talks and discussion on funding, training, apprenticeship and employment, there will be a chance to network with the other attendees of the event.
“Roadmap to recovery”
Sarah Hutton, Music Industry Coordinator at Kirklees Year of Music said: “The industry has been one of the worst affected by the pandemic, and as the sector begins to open up and venues welcome artists and customers through their doors, we want to be sure they feel equipped to start the new year strong.
“We are looking forward to hearing from our great line-up of speakers and hosting our roundtable to discuss the biggest concerns facing the industry and planning a roadmap to recovery”.
