Huddersfield Town take a short trip down the road to the Oakwell Stadium to face Barnsley F.C. in the EFL Championship. 3 pm Kick-off.
Team News
The Terriers last game was against Middlesbrough, where they suffered a 2-1 defeat. This was another frustrating loss for the Terriers and another game that needs to be put behind them.
Middlesbrough got off to a flying start with 2 goals in the first quarter of the match, leaving Huddersfield with a lot of work to do. Despite a late consolation in the form of an own goal, the Terriers were unable to mount a comeback.
The loss has left Huddersfield in 8th place but with a much tighter gap between the teams below.
Barnsley
Currently, Barnsley are in 23rd place in the Championship table, certainly an awful position to be in.
The Tykes have only managed to win 2 games out of 20 so far this season, which again is something that they are going to have to change quickly if they want to have any hope of staying in the Championship.
Barnsley previously played Peterborough where the game finished a 0-0 draw. Away from home, I do not think that this was a bad result for Barnsley, but they are going to need to change their game sooner rather than later to give themselves a fighting chance.

One thing to point out is the new manager singing for Barnsley, the former Sweden U21 Manager, Poya Asbaghi. This was an interesting signing, but one Barnsley clearly felt they had to make to give themselves the best chance of surviving in the Championship this season.
There are a couple of players that are on the watch list for Barnsley, the first of these is Cauley Woodrow, the forward has had a quiet season but still has managed to get himself 3 goals and an assist.
The other player on my watchlist for this weekend is Aaron Leya, again not as many goals as he would have liked to score this season, but he has still managed to find the back of the net 3 times this season, despite the results.
Barnsley will have to prepare big time for the game this weekend and hunt for the much needed 3 points and for the first win under their new manager.
Prediction
There is no easy game in the Championship as we all know so this could be tough for either side to come out on top if they’re not careful.
Huddersfield have lost their past two games and I am sure that they are going to be looking for a win in this game to try and push themselves back up into that play-off position that they were previously in.
This is also going to be a game for Barnsley where they are going to be hunting for 3 points and the first win under their new manager.
