Middlesbrough F.C struck fast against The Terriers to take the three points.
Huddersfield Town played Middlesbrough at the weekend, where they lost the game 2-1. It was a poor performance from The Terriers and another game that needs to be put in the past.
The game started perfectly for Middlesbrough, with an early goal coming in from Duncan Watmore in the 16th minute. The early goal increased the speed and tension that Middlesborough was putting towards Huddersfield. Middlesbrough used this momentum to put another one in the back of the net; another goal from Duncan Watmore gave The Boro the 2-goal lead they needed. Duncan Watmore was one of the players to watch for this match, and rightly so.

For the rest of the first half, Middlesbrough managed to keep on the pressure. They did not let Huddersfield play that game that they wanted to play whatsoever.
The game then went into the second half, where we saw a little more brightness from The Terriers, but there was still nothing to show for it. Huddersfield Town did have some alright runs and a couple of chances, but nothing was secured as Middlesbrough had dropped back to a more defensive play style.
As the game entered the final seconds, Huddersfield did manage to get a goal as the ball hit a Middlesbrough player, which spilt onto the Boro keeper, Luke Daniels, where the ball was put into the net.
This was some consolation for Huddersfield and made the scoreline look a little better for the Terriers.
The young forward Duncan Watmore (player to watch) has stood out this season, and this game was undoubtedly his best one of the season so far with his goal contributions and effort during the match.
Post-match Thoughts
Overall looking back onto the game, this was an unfortunate result for the Terriers. It felt like The Terries were put out of the match after Middlesbrough got their two early goals.
This was unfortunate, as I’m sure Huddersfield was looking to make up for the performance they put out on Wednesday night, but this wasn’t the game for them.
The Terriers will now have a week to prepare for their next game at the weekend, which will take place against Barnsley. A great chance to get 3 points here.
