Over the coming weeks, Huddersfield Town Foundation’s Women’s Football Academy is holding open training sessions.
Huddersfield Town Foundation has partnered with Calderdale college to deliver the Academy. The Academy will support young women between the ages of 16 and 19 in combining study with sport.
Calderdale College and Huddersfield Town Foundation launched the programme in 2020. Students could pick any course at the college to study alongside training.
Alongside their chosen course, players train twice a week with the Town Foundation’s FA qualified coaches. The coaches will support those at the academy to grow as individual players and to be part of a successful team.

EFL Community and Education Football Alliance League
The training won’t be without a bit of competition. As part of the EFL Community and Education Football Alliance League, Huddersfield Town’s team will play against other teams representing Premier league and ELF clubs. Including teams such as Manchester City, Preston North End, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.
The open sessions give prospective students a chance to train alongside current students and staff and gain insight into what the programme could have in store for them.
It will also be an opportunity to ask questions and see the facilities at Calderdale college, where the students will spend most of their time across the two-year programme.
