This year the Scarecrow Festival is back for its second year! Making its return to Almondbury, Lepton, and Fenay Bridge this bank holiday weekend – 28 & 29 August.
The festival is organised by Almondbury Business and Community Association. Last year the festival was a great success; over 100 scarecrow entries raised £1400.

Entries for this year closed earlier this month but you can still take part in the festival this coming weekend. The festival plots a route of all the scarecrow entries. For £3 you can buy a brochure with the map and walk the trail, finding all kinds of decorated scarecrows along the way. All of the money raised goes towards the initiative directly impacting and benefiting the Almondbury ward.
Scarecrow submissions were open to all living or based in Almondbury, Lepton and Fenay Bride. There will be a cash prize of £50 to the scarecrow voted the best as well as a engrave trophy courtesy of Ballcraft Engravers and a number of runner up prizes
